Pastor Kent Kelly said...
“Around us on every hand, foundations are falling, and, in the words of God Himself, ‘If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?’ We have provided in a small way, an answer to that rhetorical question, ‘What can the righteous do?’ They can send their children to Calvary Christian School where the foundations cannot be destroyed.
Our foundations cannot be destroyed because they are the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. The foundations of our modern educational systems are the shifting sands of Humanism, permissiveness, evolutionary ‘science,’ falsely so called, and the very same philosophies that led Socrates to take one drink too many!
We invite you to join us as we build upon our Foundation. Our plan is ‘Education As It Used To Be!’ Our purpose is Christian character, love, a safe learning environment, discipline, and, included in the deal, a good education. We are willing to make any sacrifice to help our children attain these goals.”
It was Pastor Kelly’s vision and desire to provide Christian education for children in this community that, with the Lord’s help, brought our school into existence in 1973. He was our leader and inspiration for the next 31 years, until he suffered a disabling stroke in April 2003. On August 1, 2008, Pastor Kelly went home to be with the Lord. His presence is sorely missed, and he will always be greatly loved and appreciated by those of us he served so sacrificially. He was a Warrior for the Faith and a faithful servant. |
